Hi im going to be a senior in high school so i still have a while to decide what i want to do but pretty much iv always been very good at math but iv never really enjoyed math class. I got a 780 on the math sat and its easily my best subject skill-wise so naturally i started considering engineering because of how being good at math is good and i think i would like designing things. I dont know whether its a good idea though because i really dont like working with numbers.

can anyone who knows more about engineering give me some insight as to whether you think id like majoring in it and if you think its a good or bad idea say why
thanks

It's hard to gauge if you would like it based on a list of your dislikes, what do you like? What about designing do you like? Being good at math is fundamental for many things.

A lot of career requires good math skills, and that's not going to make a good engineer. A good engineer is someone who can solve problems using their extensive knowledge in science, math, and technology. That's exactly what engineers do, they solve problems.

yeah.. i guess im looking for a career that being naturally good at math would be a big plus, but one that doesnt involve years of studying advanced math..
anyone know of a career like that?

Any career that involves being good at math will also involve studying math in college. Go into engineering and you'll be taking 25-27ish credits of math not to mention all the physics classes that are calculus based so you'll be applying the math you learn there. Then all your major courses will also be applying concepts from both math and physics.
