<p>My plan for applying to colleges is to apply to places that offer significant merit aid because my family will likely not qualify for need based aid. Do you think that I would have enough time to visit places after being admited and seeing how much money I recieved?</p>
<p>Yes. By the time you have all of the money offers on the table, and have picked out the one or two best, you will have roughly a month in which to decide. Happyniece made a quick trip in mid-April to the college that offered her the most money. She is studying there now, and is very happy. The $700 or so that she and her mom paid for the plane tickets, hotel, and rental car were well invested.</p>
<p>I also know plenty of cases where students saw the campus for the first time when they arrived in September for classes. If that is the way things work out for you, you certainly won't be the only one.</p>
