Hi.
I was accepted by UCI since March. And yesterday I finally got accept by UCLA Business Economocis major.

Now I am deciding going to which University..
I have planned to study in the graduate school in UCLA..
So go to which unversity for undergraduate will be better??

At first I thought I will go to UCI first, since there is less competition, I can earn a higher GPA, then I can have a better chance to transfer to the UCLA graduate program. And I love Irvine more than in LA.. and my girl friend is in Irvine too.

However, my friend told me to go to UCLA. He say even though you can get a higher GPA in UCI, the reputation of UCI isnt as high as UCLA. And he says I can have a better chance to go to UCLA graduate program if I studied in UCLA undergraduate. People usually transfer to a different university for graduate program, but he says it wont affect my admission much if I take undergraduate in UCLA and transfer to UCLA graduate program.

I'm actually a Computer Science and Engineering / Mathematics double-major at UCI. I took Physics 1A over the summer at UCLA and it was much more difficult than any class I've taken here (actually it was the physics lab that was really hard). I just applied as a transfer student and I'm debating whether or not to go. I'm leaning towards transferring because I don't have a scholarship of any kind at UCI and I can hang on to my friends if I try. I think UCLA will offer me a much better education. Anyhow, that's my insight thus far. Oh! And everyone I've talked here who got accepted to UCI and UCLA went to UCI for the money...

I live in Irvine too hidehide. I also got into UCI but am going to UCLA. A degree in UCLA will be more reputable and will open lots of doors for you, especially when you start looking for that first job. UCI is a great school, but UCLA is just better. Yea, it might be comfortable in Irvine but wouldn't you rather be challenged? If you work hard Im sure you can earn a high GPA in UCLA too. My advise is to go to UCLA, but in the end it's your decision.

If you really wanna go to UCLA for grad school, you should go to UCI, not because of GPA or stuffs, it's because many people said UCLA and UC berkeley discrimate against their own undergrad students. My bf's friend who got 3.9X in Berkeley undergraduate as a computer science major got rejected by Berkeley as a master as well.
