I just signed up for Anthro2 AC with Mr. Lightfoot, but I'm #40 on the waitlist. I managed to get into a lab, if that helps.

It says there's 303/330 enrolled in the lecture, with 27 seats available and 2 on the waitlist (I'm going by esc.frozeninflames.net). What are my chances of getting off the waitlist?

Could anybody offer a suggestion for another excellent AC course that fulfills a breadth requirement (besides physical sciences) that I could use as a backup?

Thanks for the suggestion, but the lecture time for Music 26AC conflicts with a class I'm already signed up for.

I checked Telebears and it says there's 330/330 enrolled in the lecture, and I'm #28 on the waitlist. What are my chances of getting off the waitlist now?

Also, how do I know if I'm waitlisted or not for the lab? At the time I signed up, I got into the lab cause there were available positions, but when I check Telebears, the lecture and lab are both under "Wait-Listed Classes."

Linguistics 55AC is available and it fulfills the social and behavioral science breadth. I haven't taken it, but it sounds interesting and I was considering taking it.

^^ It's a decent class. Took it in the spring with prof leonard. He's a cool guy that's good with knowing everyone's names, cussing + joking, and getting his point across.

Hmm, could anybody answer my question above?

It gives me a position #28 for the lecture but there's no position for the lab - does that mean I'm in the lab already?

I have the same question as RaNe. I heard that if you get in the discussion/lab, you're in the lecture regardless of your wait list position for it. I'm also wait listing a class and it doesn't say anything about my position for the discussion. Does that mean I'm in?

Neat, I just logged onto Telebears and under Fall 08, there's a "Class Calendar" on the left that shows which classes you've been waitlisted in. My lecture's in red, which means waitlisted, and my lab's in black, which means enrolled.

So what are my chances of getting off the waitlist for the lecture if I'm in the lab?

i'm just waiting till school starts and hoping for the best. i'm in 4 units and waitlisted in 12 more... and no back up courses fit in my schedule :( so i'll just have to see what pans out when school starts i suppose. beg to the teacher/gsi to add more spots i guess? haha...

on average about 10% move around, which is why the rule of thumb for waitlists is that your chance of getting in is decent as long as your position is 10% or less of the total class size.
