Student from Mexico (finishing a MA in Spanish Literature) in the US trying to get accepted in Columbia.

I'm aiming to the Spanish and Portuguese PhD Program (in the field of Latin American Literature).

Things are like this:

BA in Linguistics taken in Mexico (final grade over there like 91 out of 100).

MA in Spanish Literature about to be finished in the US (with 3.7 GPA).

Strong recommendation letters (one of my professors earned both MA and PhD in Literature at Columbia)

Some experience presenting papers in different literature and linguistics congresses nationally (within Mexico) and also within the US.

Few publications in local newspapers in Mexico.

Two papers waiting for publication in two major literature and philosophy magazines (can't prove that for now though).

Very strong skills in writing and research (the essay part won't be so hard on me, I believe).

Some experience editing books and working for small publishing companies.

3 times (out of eight) awarded with best semester student award during my BA.

Awarded with a TAship here in the US also.

International experience studying in Canada as an exchange student (during my BA).

GRE to be taken soon (tomorrow, lol). So I don't know the results yet...

What do you people think?

Thanks in advance
