A captain from the USAFA is coming to my house in a few hours to interview me for the academy. Any tips on what he will ask me or talk about?

Don't worry, they are not out to trip you up. basically they want to see your communication skills and if your parents and siblings are there, how you interact. they have most all the background information on you but according to our son's interviewer they want to make sure your academy material. He told us a story on how he went to visit one candidate and his mother asked him a question and he told her to shut up and leave, well he said that that was all he had to see. He didn't get the appointment. so just be yourself and be respectful and polite.

Good luck

NBbulldog - that was my husband, bensdad, posting that last response. His intention was good but gramatically backwards. I hope you didn't send your mother away:) The story goes: The interviewer went to the candidate's house and the candidate's mom asked the interviewer a question. The candidate told his own mother to shut up. Needless to say, that was one candidate that did not get a good review and was not accepted.

Be yourself, be honest, be polite, be nice to your siblings (hopefully that is being yourself) The interviewer may ask questions of your family. In our case I was working late that day. When I came in I introduced myself and the interviewer asked me one question: "How would it make you feel if your son got accepted into the academy?" I said, "I would be honored." That's all I said. It was enough.
The best of luck to you! I hope everything goes well in your interview and the rest of the process. If you have any questions, I'm here all the time. No more backwards answers from hubby :)

NB -- how did the interview go??
