Hey guys, I am a freshman in college, and currently I am taking the following classes for my 1st semester:

*1st semester:
English 101
Bio 1 with lab
Statistics
Horticulture I (Plants) with lab
Botany(Plants) seminar
*

*2nd semster:
English 102
Bio 2 with lab
Calculus I
Horticulture II with lab
*

Now my questions are:

-I will be transferring out after one year, so would it be a good idea to start taking a Chem class/Physics class for the FIRST time during my second semester? The pre-med requirement is usually a year of these classes, but I have read that I shouldn't start out a 1 year course in one college for one semester, and then in another college for another semester.

-Would it be a good idea to start out physics or chem (one of them) for the first time during my second semester, and finish one more semester in the college I am transferring to? They say that different colleges have different course outlines, and that the sequences vary from college to college, so it might not fit in, etc.

-Also, the pre-med required courses: Do we need to have taken them all BEFORE applying, or can we save one of the requirements like PHYSICS for senior year?

-Lastly: I feel as if I am wayyyyyy behind, and am not taking enough pre-med required classes during my first year of college. Many have told me that by taking Biology and Chem during freshman year, it gives them time to take upper level courses. The upper level courses mainly consist of Bio classes though, and I am taking a year of Bio during freshman year, so shouldn't I be good?

Thanks a lot! Recommend any change in my class schedule if you want to! If I switch majors into Bio, then the Hort class will be dropped so feel free to give me advice on a replacement for it!

Wow =/ Anyone please help and post?

Bump..........................Post away

You should have probably taken gen chem this semester, but it's too late now. I don't think it's a good idea to start the first semester of a year course in the Spring, though. Not only because you're transferring to different schools, but because you're going to have an entire summer break from the material. If you don't think you're going to finish your premed req's in time though, I would bite the bullet. However, you ARE allowed to take classes after you apply. You just have to have them before you matriculate. So you may be able to hold off to take gen chem and then maybe physics until your fall semester of Sophomore yr. That all depends on what other classes you need for your major and what you can fit in where.
