I am applying for fin aid as an international student and i have problems filling out the forms. The Collegeboard fin aid forms ask about my expected visa type..should it be academic or language training (F)? I am not quite familiar with those matters.

Also, I have to answer this question: "How many people, including yourself, depend on the income of your parents for daily living expenses?" I have no siblings, but I do not know whether I should include my parents and say 3, or include simply myself and answer 1.

If you have any clues, I'd appreciate it. I have to send this forms as soon as possible.

I have the same problem concerning the visa types. But in what regards your second question, if both your parents are employed you should include only yourself and answer 1

I think you would fall under the F category. There is a J category but I think it is for some kind of exchange program with seasoned researchers. I am sure F should be the one.

The colleges ask 2 questions about your family. One is about how many people are dependent on your parents' income. And the other is about, how many dependents of your own will accompny you, which mostly is not applicable for under-grad students who are all mostly single. For question 1, I think it should be the children and any other dependents such as unincomed grand-parents etc. that live with you.
