How good is Chapman's need based aid? For say, someone who has an efc of zero? What could someone with an efc of zero expect to get?

Here is a link to the financial aid student information guide that you can go to for the info on determining your eligibility.

Probably not much. Chapman claims to meet 100% but that’s not necessarily true. They include loans in the “aid” that they give and trust me, the loans are ALOT. Here is what I WOULD guess they would give someone with an EFC of 0 (and I know this because I’ve spoken to a financial aid officer on the phone about this, TRUST me, I’ve complained)

Chapman Grant: $28,000
Loans (including PARENT PLUS): $9,500
Federal Work Study: $3,000

Which leaves you with a pretty huge gap ONTOP OF the loans they are already giving you. Soo yeah… unless you’re parents BANK…Chapman doesn’t seem likely

This is basically exactly the aid package I got ^^ haha. Except 7k was a Chapman grant and 20k was a merit scholarship.
My EFC is about 17k

Annathatshibby: What was your GPA and SAT/ACT scores? Trying to figure if I might get a merit-based package (3.8 GPA, 26 on the ACT, some AP classes).

My GPA is 3.9 w 3.7 uw
1830 SAT score
I had really good extra curricular activities, so that might have played a part as well. Student body VP and secretary, editor in chief of school newspaper and literary magazine, Stanford retreat ambassador, book club co-founder and VP, teacher assistant, peer tutor, etc.
We only offer 1 AP class for juniors (AP USH) and I took it and got a B.

Received no scholarship (talked w/admissions and I’m 2 points too low on the ACT) and they only gave me $11,000 a year in grants, $12,000 in loans and expect my EFC to be $17,000 year. So not happening. I can’t afford that. And what about housing? Chapman certainly does NOT meet near 100 percent of need. I’m beyond crushed.
