Need Based Aid

Hello everybody I was wondering if anyone knew anything about need based aid. I have recently been accepted into USC but I don’t think I will be getting any of the big scholarships My SAT score are in line with a lot of the requirements but my GPA is not. Also what are my chances of getting a scholarships in the future. Also is it possible to enroll into the Honors College your sophomore year?
A couple facts:
-My parent make a little less then 62,000 dollars(combined gross income)
-I am an out of sate student from New Jersey.
-GPA: 3.6
-Biochemistry and Molecular Biology Major
-USC is my first choice school

If you have taken any Honors or AP courses USC weights these differently than most schools in NJ so they will recalculate your GPA for academic scholarship consideration. They add one point for each honors or AP course and only count certain courses. There are other threads that explain this further. Sorry don’t know any details about financial aid.

Run the Net Price Calculator for the school and visit the financial aid page. Look at the money matters publication below to see what you might get in possible merit aid.

Yes you can apply to the HC while enrolled there it’s something like a 3.6 gap and some other stuff while at USC

My advice is to fill out the FAFSA ASAP.

They do it based on first come first serve. The earlier you get your FAFSA in, the more money you’ll be eligible. Some things, such as the Pell Grant, don’t run out. Other grants do!

It’s made a huge difference for me. I lost several thousand in funding as a sophomore because my FAFSA got messed up and wasn’t technically submitted until a later time. The earlier I’ve submitted, the more grants (and fewer loans), I’ve been given.
