so i got my acceptance package for EDI today...and no merit based. to be honest i was disappointed because my parents are probably going to have to pay full tuition. i know the need based package doesnt come out until later, but can someone give me an estimate? i used the EFC calculator on collegeboard but i was missing a lot of information. my parents make about 200,000 a year combined. does that basically eliminate me from any need based? thanks

Yes, unless you’e one of 12 siblings.

No, it doesn’t, you will still recieve some, not full, but some.

Annual income is only 1 factor in determining “need” based FA. You really need to sit down and have your parents provide you with the info on the EFC calculator. This will then give you an estimate in determining your FA award: COA-EFC=Award. Although GW may not meet 100% of your need and will include some loans.

200K/yr will not necessarily exclude you from need-based award depending on home equity, cash, investments, etc. Also helps alot if you have another sib or 2 in college @ the same time!
