I was wondering if you could list a few colleges that are need-blind to Canadian students other than the six colleges that are need-blind to all international applicants, and the one I know of: University of Pennsylvania.

I don't know all the details, but I have Canadian friends receiving aid at:
Princeton
Colgate

I know Canadian kids at tons of US schools, so need blind for admissions seems to be a non issue, but are you asking about admissions or getting aid?

I am asking about both. I don't want to be placed in an extremely competitive pool just because I need financial aid. I wouldn't be able to afford these colleges if I decided to go without financial aid, so I am looking for need-blind institutions. I just don't want to apply and not get in because they ran out of money for financial aid. But of course if I get in, a lot of colleges cover 100% of the demonstrated need.

also check for liberal arts college's, u can get financial aid at many of these (even if u are an international student), althogh it's based both on need and merit.

There are NOT a lot of U.S. colleges that cover 100% of demonstrated need for internationals. Virtually all that do are among the most competitive colleges in the U.S.

If these students are "full pay" students, this would not help the OP. I agree with NSM...this student needs to carefully check the availability of financial aid at schools. Many schools do not provide financial aid for international students at all.

Also, check with each school as some schools do not seem to consider Canadians in the same international category.

You are right, thumper, if they are full pay that info would not help and I do not know the details of enough of these kids stories to know who is paying what, except in a few circumstances. Also, many are rowers, so they have the athletic tip and at some schools a Div I scholarship.

Columbia does not group Canadians with internationals, and is need-blind. I think that, as Somemom says, many colleges count Canadians in the regular pool, not the international one.
