Which colleges in the U.S. offer need-based financial aid to international students?

I am aware that most of the Ivy League and several other top schools such as Stanford offer these kinds of scholarships, but I'm afraid of not getting accepted, and I can only go to the U.S. if I receive aid covering more than half of the cost. I need to know what other schools there are just in case.

Also if you were wondering, my stats:

Malaysian

I took the SAT I twice, 2020 (690 critical reading, 670 math and 660 writing) and 2130 (700 critical reading, 710 math and 720 writing) respectively

SAT II U.S. History 660, Literature 750, World History 690

I am homeschooled, so I have no AP or Honors classes, graduated with Grade 12 (many homeschoolers in my country graduate with only Grade 11)

As a homeschooler, I have been involved in many ECs, including founder and editor-in-chief of my homeschool center's yearbook, drama director, mission work, president of the camp committee, a Royal Ranger, captain of the netball team (winning gold) etc., so much so that a local newspaper published an article of these achievements

Valedictorian for my graduating class

NSHSS (National Society for High School Scholars) member

Thank you!

As you probably know, your test scores are good, but they’re not very competitive for ivies and other top schools…and as an int’l, your chances would even be lower.

It looks like you’re looking for some kind of safety school where you’ll be pretty sure of being admitted AND get lots of need based aid. Those schools really don’t exist for internationals…and not really for domestic students either.

However, there are some (not a lot) schools that will give MERIT scholarships for int’ls with stats like yours. These would be a few mid-tier schools and below.

Since your family can pay for half of the COA, then you need schools that would give you full tuition scholarships so that your family’s money can pay for room, board, fees, books, personal expenses, and int’l travel…and insurance…those costs can add up to be about half the COA for an int’l.

A few (not all) of the schools on this link will give their scholarships to int’ls.

I know that Alabama will give you a full tuition scholarship for your stats IF you submit your apps (for school and scholarship) early in the app season so that you can be accepted BEFORE Dec 1st…which is the deadline for scholarship consideration. Their apps go online in JULY…so you could apply at that point, get a FULL TUITION scholarship, and have that as a safety school. What is your intended major? If it’s in Eng’g or Comp Sci, then Alabama would ALSO give you 2500 per year on top of the FREE tuition.
