Need-blind Question

A question for you guys.

Ok, so PENN is need blind for the US, Canada, and Mexico. And I have read numerous times that candidates from wealthy backgrounds are sometimes at a disadavantage because they have been more privileged. So, if I come from one of these countries (not the US), and come from a privileged background, will this affect me negatively? (I do not need financial aid)

For example (and hypothetically speaking), if my father was CEO of a known company, and I listed this in my app, would they descriminate against me?

I doubt they discriminate against wealthy applicants so much as they give the benifit of the doubt to poorer ones. I think it was shown somewhere that $100k difference in family income is like 200 points on the SAT. Dont know if hte numbers are true, but affluent people have more access to prep courses, consultants, etc. Also, some ECs like crew are mostly for rich kids. Having a CEO for a father can help if he donates fair sums of money to Penn.

Where u from?
