Hello, I have narrowed my choices of majors to communcation or animation. In regards to a college degree is it better to have a minor with degrees, or use the electives you can to take to take classes that could benefit the degree. Also is there really this stigma of where you go is important, or does that more so apply to something like the arts. For the com major, I could either have a business minor/other minors, or just take the electives, which having a minor might push me a little for graduating. Also which type of classes would benefit each.
The latter, but they’re not mutually exclusive. You could, for example, major in math and minor in computer science to do data science, or major in computer science and minor in art to go into design, or major in political science and minor in writing and become a political writer/journalist. It’s also totally fine to just take classes that you’re interested in, but it’s usually a good idea to try to learn some marketable skills while in college.
But yes, I wouldn’t delay your graduation to complete a minor.
It matters more in some fields than others, but overall I think it matters less than people think it does.
