Need critical reading help!

Hey guys, I'll be sitting for my SAT in less than a month and I'm really bad at CR. Are there any tips or any ways for me to improve?

What score are you at right now?

Yeah even i am troubled with CR. My SAT is on december 7. I have tried most of the methods illustrated in different books and youtube. But i don’t seem to have any improvements on my score. need help

Just relax and find a method that works for you through practice tests and reviews. Always remember to steal your answers from the passage though. Good luck!!

Always save the long passage reading for last. Complete the sentence completions first because they are usually easy and quick to finish. For the short passages, you might think that the questions are easy since the passage is so short but it’s actually harder. Make sure you read the entire short passage and choose carefully. For the long passages, do not read the entire passage but skim.

The best, most direct way to really increase you CR score is by studying vocab. Not only will you get more of the sentence completion correct, but having a better vocabulary will also increase your understanding of the passages. Over the summer, I mainly studied a bit of vocab each day, and my score went up from the 650s to 800

Ludwig person is absolutely right. Entric on the other hand is speaking quite subjectively. There is no set pattern for the SAT and each person has a different way of attempting it. Do lots of tests and find the way that you believe works best for you. Good Luck!

Review the Important threads in this forum. There’s plenty of advice on CR. Most of it does not emphasize studying vocab, despite the effectiveness of that method for Mr. Ludwig.
