Hey guys,

so I'm stuck between University of Michigan and UC Davis for undergrad.

My main concern is difficulty, as I plan to apply to graduate schools for law or business. I'd love to go to michigan and I know it has better national regard, but I'm scared of the difficulty and getting a good GPA i feel would be easier at UC davis?

Just passing up Michigan for uc davis would be a big hit to me ego.... i know kids who didnt take any APs at all who will be going to davis...

ANy input?

Thanks!!!

(P.s. are usc and michigan the same in terms of difficulty??)

If you intend to go to Grad school you should keep the costs of your UG low. Are you in-state for either school?

Is there a difference in the cost of attendance? If so, does cost of attendance matter or is it not an issue?

I am not sure it will be much harder to maintain a higher GPA at UC-Davis than it would be at Michigan, but top Law schools and MBA programs seem to favor applicants from elite universities. In this regard, Michigan is much better represented than UC Davis.

There are kids at UMich who never took any AP classes either.

Also, there are kids at Berkeley and UCLA who never took any AP’s as well.

That issue should be a non-issue because it’s meaningless.

If your goal is law school, then go to whichever one is cheaper. What are your parents saying? Will they pay $55k+ for Umich? IF not, then it’s a non-issue.
