Need Dr recs

D seems to have developed a case of allergies and sinus issues. I’d prefer her see a doctor that specializes in allergies vs the SHC. If not a specialist, a good internal medicine doctor would work. Any recommendations in Tuscaloosa for doctors?

THANKS!

If anyone out here belongs to Angie’s List, maybe you could look up a few various specialists in Tuscaloosa and list them:

Allergist
Orthodontist
Dentist
Orthopedic surgeon
Podiatrist

She prob has a case of the Tuscaloosa flu. Thats what i called it when my D came home with a terrible cough and her nose running like a five year old, this weekend! She said after one night at home that she was breathing much better. I wonder, with all of the humidity and old vent systems, if there could be some mold being blown around.

That is my guess. Says she has been that way since right after rush. Constant cough. This is my child that does not really suffer from allergies. When she did all she ever had to take was a Benedryl or Sudafed, depending upon allergies vs sinus. Even then she only needed to take something a day or 2 and she would be fine. I’m sure with the older vent systems there are some mold issues. Throw in the more “lush” environment with things blooming all the time that are different than what she was exposed to at home.

Hoping she can get into a good allergiest or family med doctor that will prescribe a plan of action that she will stay on all the time to prevent flare ups. I really don’t want her waiting till she gets home at Christmas. She needs to feel better for finals.

I researched some online plus one name given to me and sent her their names and numbers. Hoping she actually calls them and books an appointment.

It seems that whenever kids get exposed to a whole new group of folks they come down with something. My mom would notice this whenever she signed us up for something new…dance class, karate, whatever.

My son has allergies and hated going to the student center for his shots so I was able to get him into this practice, Allergy, Asthma & Sinus Center of Tuscaloosa, 535 Jack Warner Pkwy
Suite C. It is really close and they have 2 or 3 doctors. If he was pleased I would highly recommend.

Thank you for this Allergy Center information. My son is starting school in the Fall and He will be needing a place to continue his Allergy shots. Wrote it down so we have it. :)
