Need el help w/admissions

Hey I was wondering if this looks like what bucknell is looking for at all for music/creative writing majors:

GPA: 4.19 weighted (going to rise)
3.88 unweighted (same)
Rank: 32/317 (getting better…it’s in the 20’s now)
SAT: (they’re not fair)…writing 610, crit reading 520, math 550.
ACT: June 10th, not taken yet.
9th grade i took almost all honors (I have 3 B’s on my transcript), 10th grade i took 2 honors, this year (11) i took 1 ap and 4 honors and have all A’s (one b+). From 10th grade on, I have all A’s on the transcript. Next year, I am taking 4 AP’s (2 AP and 2 ap weighted honors) and 1 actual honors honors.

Extracurriculars: People to people student ambassador program, national youth leadership conference (possibly–next summer), glsen (helps teach others about diversity), junior mendelssohn choir, voice lessons, piano lessons, cantoring for my rabbi, jazz choir, chamber choir (most elite), and many others that I can’t think of.

Thanks!!

i dont work for admissions (it couldnt hurt to contact them anonymously) so its difficult for me to say much with certainty.

what i can say is that prospective fine arts and humanities majors were admitted at a rate slightly below the university average for the classes of 2008 and 2009, so admission into these programs is competitive.

as you know, your test scores are well below the university average (the class of 2010 will likely have a 25-75 range of 1230-1410). given that, bucknell would be considered a 'reach' for you as a prospective humanities major. unfortunately, i dont know how music majors applications are evaluated in terms of weight given to academics and performance abilities. however, if you are very talented, going that route would likely help your chances of admission considerably.

if you can do well on the act (score 28 or higher), you will become a much more competitive applicant. the rest of your profile is solid.

also, have you considered nearby susquehanna? its known to have a very good creative writing program and would be a great match given your current sat score.

good luck!
