<p>I don't think I'll say much more aside from the fact that it's for Prompt #1 (the new one, for fall 2008) for the UCs and I figure I'll rewrite it for a couple other schools. Its a pretty literal interpretation of the prompt. It focuses on my observation skills as a writer and my love for people and local color.</p>

<p>forgottenhawk - I am always willing to review essays, but hesitated to offer that here, simply because you are a UC applicant. And I'm under the impression (right? wrong?) that the UCs look at the essays differently.</p>
<p>Maybe someone more knowledgeable will post about that issue, but I am happy to have you PM me the essay, along with the prompt, which UCs you are targeting and a little thumbnail sketch of yourself.</p>

<p>The two flagships (Cal and UCLA) are holistic and similar to top private colleges in their file review (applicant in his/her context, etc.). The other UCs are much more numbers-driven, so the essay is somewhat less important.</p>
