need financial aid help asap

Hello everyone...I am in such a lingo.I do online courses at FMU and I have applied for a pell grant and a stafford loan and got approved for both. When I applied for the pell grant I knew that was going straight to my school for tuition. When I applied for the Stafford loan I thought I was going to recieve a refund back.My school credited my account at school with the Stafford loan.I am 35 yrs old and on SSI-Disability.I need a home computer of my own to do my classes.I'm using my mother's computer when it is vacant and I use the library computer when they are vacant.I have spoke to my Financial Aid officer at my school and she said I'm at the limit with something....?this is my first time in college and I don't have a clue as to what to do next.I tried to get a Signature Loan with SalliMae but I need a cosigner.I don't have no one to cosign for me and to top that off my credit isn't god at all.I need help with moving expenses and to purchase a computer for my courses. Is there anything I can do to get some financial help?

Well, ask for a proper accounting of all of your Financial Aid and the manner it was applied to your tuition and fees. And, get that in writing. Also, go on that National Student Loan Database web site and see what is happening, if you want to.

Ask what limit you reached with the loans. Maybe you hit the limit for Freshman, but that would be hard since you are 35 and not a dependent student.

I do not know what to tell you with regards to Financial Aid and moving expenses.
But, I do know that you can always rent a computer on the cheap if going to the library or your mother's house is tripping you out.
A fair amount of rent a centers do not ask for a credit check at all, you can look up some online.
If need be, you can put a low priced computer on lay away.

If your tuition is covered, and I am assuming it is, then do not get even another loan for moving expenses and a computer.

Lastly, if you actually live in Florida, then run to the Department of Vocational Rehabilitation and/or go to the social worker who felt it best to put you on SSI/Disability for help and stuff.
