hey guys. i was just wonderin if you guys send in a resume along with your application???// i heard its discouraged but then is it???

I did... accepted ed

i did the online application. so should i send in the resume seperately then???

Doesn't the online app have a part where you can upload an additional document? That's what I did because my counselor said that its the extra paper they dont' want. Which is the same reason they dont 'want people to rush deliever the SAT scores.

oooicici
THANK YOU =)

I'm not doing it online, but I have the Columbia app right here in front of me. For the ECs section, it says "limiting yourself to the space provided" and "please refrain from sending in attachments".

So I thought it was pretty clear that all they wanted were those 2 sheets (+possible explanation for delinquency or a picture). Er... dammit, now I'm indecisive again.

Machiavelli: why don't you believe what you have read in the directions? Yes, some will tell you that they sent in a resume and were accepted E.D. For the little it is worth, I did not send one in, and I followed the directions meticulously and I was accepted E.D. too. I, for one, believe that the ability to effectively fill out Columbia's application (i.e., conveying who you are, and only conveying what really matters vs. laundry lists) is an important evaluative factor. But (sorry for beginning the sentence with a "but") you have to decide for yourself. I just think it's best to show I can follow directions when filling out forms. good luck!

Thanks, I just didn't know whether or not I should do it online as I had originally planned (but decided not to because I didn't like the online form much) or by paper. I ended up just sending in the two sheets by paper without an extra resume.
