NYU Liberal Studies Vs. Rutgers SAS Honors
Opinions? Comments? If given the option, which would you choose and why?
Has anyone been in this situation?
Any insight would be greatly appreciated, as I need to finalize my decision within the week. Thanks in advance.

Well, if you go with NYU, you’ll be in the LSP program. You won’t be working on your major immediately but would rather have to wait two years to do so until you finish the prerequisites to enter the school you initially applied to. That’s a “downside” of being in LSP, even though you are part of NYU. If you decide on Rutgers, you’ll not only be working on your major but you’ll have the distinction of being in the Honors Program. That’s a “plus side”. I wouldn’t personally consider this a “downside”, but many others in your predicament have said to me that they’d rather be in NYU just for the name - in other words, to show off.

Personally, I’d choose Rutgers. But it really depends on you.

Also, it would help if I knew what your major is and how much each school is offering you financially, if that is an area of minor/major concern to you.
