Need general SAT help

I scored a 1820 on my first try with little preparation

560 writting (9 on an essay which I thought would score much lower)- This is where I KNOW I can improve a lot easily-- I simply haven't gotten used to the format of the questions yet, I think.

620 math- I remember thinking at the time that I did terrible on the math. I struggle here because of the short amount of time provided; I rush through the last few questions. Because of this, math is the section where I leave most blanks.

640- This is the area where I'm most confident in especially time-wise. I usually finish a few minutes beforehand. Nevertheless, I feel that improvement is definitely possible.

So-- I am now scheduled to take the June SAT.

Right now I'm studying every day: one hour of vocab review and then a couple hours on practice tests and exercises.

Is there any way you guys could help me? What book should I use for practice tests? What should I focus my time on? Could anyone provide helpful links? Help on the writing? Help on maintaining my time on the math? reading?

Really, any help would be appreciated. Thanks

The “blue book” put out by the college board itself has the best practice tests – real tests that were used in the past. You can order it at their website. They also have a relatively inexpensive ($60ish) online program you can sign up for if you prefer to do your practice problems online.

My personal opinion is that the best preparation is to do practice exercises so that you become familiar with the test, reduce your anxiety and are prepared to do your best. You are doing that. Good luck!
