I recently took the JAN 2009 SAT and got M: 740 Cr : 630 and W:630 Essay-8
I will be a senior.

I wasted a lot of time. I thought that it was a relatively good score until I did research.

I want to raise my score to about a 2200. I feel that I can reach 800 in math with some self study.

I need to know ASAP how to improve my CR and WR to 700s

Please.

I did the tests in the blue book already.
i am memorising vocab words in the multiple books from library. i have about 2000 flashcards (Self Made).

Well for the writing study up on your grammar rules and you will be golden.

For the CR, read articles from the Economist or The New Yorker to get yourself familiarized with the articles that will show up on the test.

In that thread is an excellent article on how to improve your CR score.

I managed to get an 800 on Writing with a relatively simple approach. For each question, I ran the options through three filters: Does it make sense? Is it where it belongs? Is it good English?

As for the essay, I wrote several practice essays and attempted to write them in 20 minutes instead of the given 25 so that time wouldn’t be an issue. And instead of overanalyzing the prompt and my response, I focused on the structure of my essay and the clarity of my reasoning.

To find vocab words you don’t know, go through the tests you took in the blue book and look up/make flashcards of the ones you had trouble with

what are you bumping for? your questions have already been answered

because, i want to know of other suggestions…

My mom finally said I can take the SAT in October so I also need help about SAT prep. Any good practice test books?

Theres really good online SAT courses that help in the specific areas you are struggling in…you should do one of those.
