need help... ACT or SAT

i took the SAT’s and got a 1960 - 690 math- 610 verbal- 660 writing

do you guys think the ACT is easier than the SAT, and also i heard that with the ACT u can take it multiple times and send ur best score without them knowing how many times you took the test and what you scored the other times… is this true

it's not easier. Some people do better on it but its a personal thing. Take it and find out. and yes it is true you choose which score you send.

it can't hurt you to go ahead and take it, because it might, in fact, be easier for you. And yes, you can take it as many times as you would like without colleges seeing it (unless your HS is like mine and puts your scores on your transcripts).

I've taken both & found the ACT to be easier; however, I know many people find the ACT to be harder.

This is because the ACT is broken into three 1 hour sections, while the SAT is broken into ten 25 minute sections (Or something close to those numbers). Many students do not finish the ACT in time because the sections are so long, and thus students who received something like a 2,300 on the SAT may end up with a 28 on the ACT. The SAT is much easier to finish because the sections are shorter.

The SAT has a guessing penalty, the ACT does not. Also, you don't have to take the writing section of the ACT, but most schools require you to do so if your going to submit the ACT. In my experience the ACT writing graders are much harsher than the SAT writing graders, albeit the ACT essay topics are easier.

Are you serious? I think the ACT is easier.

the act was much easier for me, probably because it simulates a real test timewise...also i scored way lower on the sat because of guessing penalties

when colleges say that they want the sat and 2 subject tests or just the act, do they look down at the person that just turns in the act? it seems a little bit easier to take just one test anyway...

If you look at the statistics of any school outside the midwest, you'll find that only a very small percentage of students only submitted the ACT. This is because east & west coast schools greatly prefer the SAT, regardless of whether or not they say so online.

Agree with fantosme, East and West coast schools prefer the SAT.

I did the exact same comparatively on the SAT and the ACT.

The English is easier and math more difficult on the ACT.
On the SAT the math is easy and the verbal is more difficult.
