What looks better for schools like: UCLA, UCSD, UCSB, and SDSU???

A-G Classes For 10th and 11th Grade…

4 classes (8 semesters) of AP and Honors Courses with a 4.00 GPA.

or

6 classes (12 semesters) of AP and Honors Courses with a 3.85 GPA

Please I Need Help On This…Everyone in my classes say to take all AP and Honors, but it will hurt my GPA since there is a maximum of 8 semesters of honors pts.

i made the mistake of taking every ap class offered at my school during jr. year and it turned out to be hell....just take an amount that you're comfortable with and do really well in them. I have a lot of friends that got into cornell and other schools with only a few AP classes while I on the other hand took more but didnt get in. It so happens they got As and 5s on their tests while i ended up getting Bs and 3s.

dont, by any means, enroll in all AP's. Rule of thumb. Take the AP classes in subjects you enjoy or have a knack for. If you hate math, dont take any Calc AP classes, just take Honors. English - take honors if you can. Language - if oyu have a knack for it take the AP class it could help you when you get ot college. Don't ruin your GPA over some AP classes. THATS not what they're looking for. I got into UCSB, UCDavis, UCSC, SDSU, CAl Poly Slo, etc. and I've only taken 2 AP classes. My SAT was 1940 - i dont consider myself anything special. Try to stay comfortable.

i still ended up getting into ucb, ucsd, ucd, uci, and ucm though :)
