Hello,
My school offers this class and i was put in it by accident. The class duration is 2 periods (a total of 1:30 every day). The class starts in September and ends in May/June and it is a 5 day class. Is it worth taking this class? I have mixed opinions on taking/dropping the class. On one hand, if i pass the test it is 7/8 college credits. On the other hand, the class is too long and if i mananged to do bad on the test (3 or less) then everything is lost right? I will not get those credits and i will still have to take it in college. What is your opinion on this matter?

Also, is the AP Calc test easy or hard? Is it worth it?

Please help me,
Thanks

If you love math, try it.

Ahem. I hate to sound corny, but.. no time spent learning is ever "lost." There is some statistic (and you can look for it if you don't believe me) that people who take AP anything are more likely to perform well in college, no matter what the score on the AP exam. Besides, if it's harder than what you would have taken (which I assume that it is), it'll help you get into college. Again, no matter what your score. And, with that much time spent in class, it's unlikely that you'd do that bad on the exam as long as you put enough effort into it.

In essence, YES! AP Calc is worth it!

The only reasons you should consider not taking it is if you (a) have inadequate preparation (like no trig/precalc) or (b) are taking too many difficult things and wouldn't be able to pay enough attention to any of them.

i would take it if you are good at math.....also, 1:50 class periods of calculus and taking it 5 days a week is a lot.....so it willl be easier to learn everything slower than usual..... i toke ap calc with 1:30 class periods either 2 days or 3 days a week....depending on week and i made a 4.....i think the test is not as hard as ppl make it out to be but if you dont know what your doing it will be a long 3+ hour test

well im not the best in math but im damn good.. 95+ on both math A and math B (nyc regents). Its the time that is the biggest concern. If i do not take the class will it hurt my chances to get into college?
