hi, on the admission page it says we have to maintain a 3.0 , does it only include a-g classes or it includes everything you have , example :( library media, Auto tech, print marking, etc ) ???

3.0 W in all your classes second semester and no D's in any class.

so classes like Teacher assistant, and auto tech, willl be counted as well? thanks.

asdfasdfwfv: YOur UC GPA doesn't include those classes. In fact one of the things you can do to help yourself w/ admissions is to not take them, but instead take more classes from the a-g list from your school.

I think what Cali Trumpet was saying is that you can't get Ds in any a-g classes. Also that if you get a D after you are admitted you you are liable to be rescinded

Yeah, sorry about not being clear. I thought it was common knowledge that the UCs only look at your UC gpa. So yes, a class like teacher assistant will not be really looked at by UCSC. I sure hope you are not getting a D in any of the classes you listed, those are supposed to be the easy A classes, lol.

um what about classes like library media, and auto tech?? do they count ? and im not applying next year, i already got int but i just have to maintain 3.0 gpa. thanks

wait, wut? where does it say 3.0 GPA, last time i checked, it only says maintain minimum C's, can't drop below C. I haven't seen anything like maintain a 3.0 GPA. I only saw that 3.0 requirement in UCI, UCSB conditions of admission page.

Zerok... I don't think you have to worry about dropping below a 3.0. I mean common... You're THE ZOHAN remember. You got the crazy SAT II scores especially in CHINESE and physics and **** like that! You'd have to be lazy as **** to drop below a 3.0 but be able to get a almost perfect SAT II scores in more than 2 subjects. YOU MUST BE BIONIC OR SOMETHING!!!

well do i have to maintain a 3.0 gpa??? i have already been admitted do they count all the classes or jsut a-g classes haha

ok major clarification here asdfasdfwfv:

based on your original and second posts I mistakenly thought that you were heading into your Jr or SR year of High School. sorry. The scoop now that you are accepted is:

Do Not Get any Ds in ANY SUBJECT!!! That's it end of story. The other stuff is for kids who aren't yet sitting pretty.

Sorry for confusing you all. I take my meddlesome motherly self out of the picture now. ;)

so i can get like a 2.8 gpa and ill be fine as long as no Ds right? ok thanks.

yes, my understanding is that you would only be rescinded if you got a D. OOPs I promised to leave this thread and you alone but I cna't seem to help myself.

asd- Why take a chance. Don't get the lowest GPA you possibly can and still get in. Get a 3.0W.. you can do it... and no D's. As you said you are taking easy classes, this should not be brain surgery.

okay. the way i understand is that if your overall uc gpa drops below a 3.0w, you may get rescinded...

thats how i see it. we talked to the admissions people about it and thats what they said. but please dont bash me if im wrong hahah

overall? that includes TA, auto tech right?

Post your current classes and the grades you expect to get in them

auto- A
library media- A
english- B
government - B
calculus-C

I think you are fine. I believe the correct answer is what Slug said. You just need C's or better in all of your classes and a overall weighted GPA of 3.0 or above. You have both of those. If you are worried, shoot UCSC an email and then you will get a definite answer.

YOUR SOO IN

:)
i managed to pull off a 3.2 or something. so your good
