Need Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!ChemE

I previously studied at University of Miami with chemistry major for one and half a year. (Although I was Chem Major, I picked the same courses as engineering students did) I applied to transfer to Chemical engineering at Fall 2013. So far, I have got offer from University of Michigan-Ann Arbor, University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign and University of Wisconsin-Madison. I know those schools are both good at Chemical engineering. I am struggling choosing where I should go.

Most people suggested me to go to Umich because of its general reputation. However, I contacted some upperclassmen in Umich who are ChemE major and they told me ChemE in Umich is the hardest major in the college of engineering. Most students suffered from workload and they couldn’t achieve high GPA. I want to take graduate study to get master degree but not pHD. I prefer to industry rather than research. So my question is: will GPA account for a large proportion when applying to graduate study? Will it pull me down so much if I get lower GPA in Umich than that in other Universities? For example, if I got 3.9 GPA in other schools but only 3.5 in Umich, what usually will admission officer think of?

As for UIUC, when I looked at the College review, I found that reviews for ChemE is much better for UIUC than Umich. Illinois is ranked just as high as Michigan in many fields, many of which are engineering-related.

As for Wisconsin, it has the highest rank in ChemE among those three schools. But I don’t know much about it.

Appreciate again for your patience to read everything. I am an international students. I may not express clearly in some points. I want to go graduate study. In this case, could you give me some advice where to go? Thanks so much!

Thank you so much!!
