Need help choosing a dorm (UCSB)

I have not visited the campus yet and don't know very little about the dorms. Any information about the dorms would be very helpful. Also, which dorm would fit me best?

About myself:
- don't smoke or drink
- tend to be little bit shy at first
- don't plan on partying too much (idc if others do)
- liberal
- majoring in biology

Preferences:
- double occupancy (undecided about triples)
- floor that is social, friendly
- close to campus or science buildings
- floor that is not extremely noisy

Questions:
- are triple dorms really small?
- which dorms have substance free floors? (i might be interested)
- which dining halls have good food? (I'm vegetarian)

What dorms did you end up applying to?
The way you describe yourself is basically the way I am and I’m majoring in Bio too! Well, Biopsych but my fave subject is Biology.

I’m still waiting for my room assignment…it’s supposed to come in the mail sometime during the first weeks of September but turns out I’m getting a triple instead of the single / double that I preferred. Good luck!

Wahooo for biopsych… I’m a biopsych major too  Don’t worry too much about what dorm you’re in, you’ll end up finding your own group of friends that have similar interests to you and it won’t really matter where you live.

Janet, my first three choices were Anacapa, Santa Cruz and Santa Rosa (aka the shorties). I don’t really care what dorm I get. I just don’t want Santa Cat. because it is not on campus. As for now I’m in a double which is kind of weird since I put a few triples down as my choice. I heard that they mail out the roomate/dorm assignments today so we should be getting them in a few days!
