Need help choosing a UC

I don’t want to spend tooo much money on applying to UC schools, but I want a good safety school.

Can you guys help me rank these three in terms of their engineering curriculum, location and just overall atmosphere?

UC Irvine
UC Davis
UC Santa Barbara

Depends on which type of engineering.....

UCD - top school for environmental/ biological related engineering
UCSB - chem and materials engineering - world reknown
UCI - not sure. I think their EE or Comp E programs are good.

In the few engineering fields it has, UCSB is a very strong school. UCD is an overall great engineering school, and UCI falls below both of them.

If you are from Washington, none of those schools are your safeties, sorry to say.

At close to $45k for OOS, the mid-tier UCs are not worth the money, IMO. U-Dub is a no-brainer.

Oh, haha. I was born in CA and my mother is a resident of CA. So that's why I said that. =P

I'm kinda in-state for both WA and CA.

Feez-I'm not sure where you got that information. UCI's engineering school (41) is ranked higher than UC davis (44). UCI is also the only unvirsity of California to have a separate school of Computer Science.

"...location and just overall atmosphere"

That would be your own preference.
