Kent Place or Blair Academy. Similar packages so money doesn't come into the equation. Great feel on both campuses...I'm trying to compare the two but can't seem to find any resources comparing apples to apples. Any thoughts?

I know a few Kent Place girls as it is quite close to where I live. I’m assuming day student at Blair? There are two obvious things - distance from your home/commute and all girls vs coed.

The people I know with kids at KPS are very happy. I don’t know much about Blair other than its excellent reputation. I would give thought to being a day student at a school where over three quarters of the kids board.

ThisNameIsTaken, if you will be a day student, you may wish to ask Blair to be put in touch with some day kids to get their perspective. I am sure they would be very honest and answer any questions you might have.

Blair does a great job of making sure day kids feel very much a part of the school. There is no ‘divide’ between day and boarding students, and both seem equally happy.

Even day kids who started later than freshman year seem to have no problem making friends and feeling fully part of the community. DC has good friends who are day students and enjoys going home with them for a home cooked meal or a weekend. It is also common for local kids (whether day or boarding) to fly home with boarders for a holiday or a visit over the summer as a fun get-away. This might be to Florida, Hong Kong, or just about anywhere. Blair also arranges many travel trips during the various school breaks - some of these are for fun and/or a cultural experience, some are community service based, and some are for sports training.

Then, too, there are a good number of local kids who live an hour or so away but board just because they enjoy the experience. They like the independence and freedom but also have the ability to go home when they want to.
