I am senior from Connecticut. I recently heard back from the various schools I applied to and my best options have come down to these four schools. Gettysburg and Lafayette both provided over 20k in merit scholarships, while BC and UVA have not provided any financial aid. While I believe Boston College and UVA are superior schools, I think I would fit in at each of these schools and the merit money at both Gettysburg and Lafayette are causing me to lean towards those options. The one concern I have, however, is my path after undergrad. I want to pursue a law degree, thus I felt it made sense to look for a cheaper undergrad option, hold good grades, and seek acceptance into a good law school. However, would it be worth it to go to an institution with more prestige such as UVA and BC if I was to pursue law? If these schools didn’t provide a significant advantage in my career to account for the money I could save going to Lafayette or Gettysburg, then I would not consider them as strongly. Any opinion and advice on these schools and my selection would be appreciated greatly. Thank you
