I want to transfer to UCLA, what should I do??
I want to transfer to UCLA at all costs. If I transfer as a History major I would need a 3.7 GPA in order to be competitive, right now my GPA is a 3.7 but I will be taking much harder science courses in the Spring after I apply which will lover my GPA. Should I stay with History or change my major to Anthropology, which is a less competitive major to apply with to UCLA -only requires a 3.5 GPA to be competitive. By the way I like both majors, but I want to take the easier major of the two.

plzzzz help i have 3 more days to change the major on my application.

If I were you I would pick anthro.

I recently spoke with an archeologist and she said there are loads of commercial jobs out there. I would skip history as your main major unless you want to be a teacher or work for the state department. And schools usually combine archeology and anthropology. If you understand the basics of preserving relics, digging relics, etc. along with your anthropology you will have a versatile background. And of course history knowledge is also important.

Good luck!

thanks for all your advice… i might stick with it then. btw does anyone know what anthropology is classified as? is it a social of humanity major?

Anthropology is usually classified as a social science.
