Hello guys, new to here nice to meet you all:)
Directly to the point, there is a lot of vacillation about my schedules. A little bit about myself, I moved to US as an immigrant starting high school, I spent 2 years on ESL and wasted a lot of time, and I fairly screwed my junior year because I changed my major choice from marketing to medical field, my classes for this year is almost all about business and marketing which I deeply regret. However, I am running out of time, thus I have to squeeze all classes into one year. My current decision is
Eng/ creative writing(definitely no AP for eng)
Environmental science/ psychology
Human anatomy and physiology
honors pre-cal
AP bio
AP chem
AP physics 1 , this is where I concerned most. I know taking a lot of APs doesn’t impress your college. It is a matter of your interest and capacity. If you screw up, it is just a burden of gpa and make you crazy . I am afraid that taking too many APs is very stressful and overwhelming, can anyone who has taken this class before give me some suggestions? I heard that it is like 90 percent of algebra based math with a little theory, is it so? What is most important is that If it is very hard and takes a lot of time , should I withdraw it to regular level or should I take something else? My counselor suggests me to take honors intro to engineering design, but I am not interested in engineering( I might because I never take before) Any suggestions over all? Sorry for any typos
For a pre-med,you can major in anything you want. You just have to take Bio, Chem, Org Chem etc.
So don’t feel like you are behind. You are not expected to take Anatomy in HS but you can.
Have you taken Chemistry or physics in HS at all?
I would definitely take AP Bio and possibly APChem too…but not also AP Physics. Three lab classes is way too much. You can take Physics in college…you can’t get credit for med school pre-req from AP classes anyway. …but you want to be prepared for Bio and Chem by taking the AP versions.
Can you take AP Psychology instead of Environmental science/ psychology?
Relax, take the science that interests you most
