Need help enrolling in courses

So I've been abroad for the summer and only just came back, missing the orientation and any notices/updates etc. in between. Have most students already enrolled in classes? Because it looks like I'm late, and was told to do it asap by my college advisor.

I'm enrolling either today or tomorrow, but am kinda stuck. I'm still undecided over my major, thinking of comp sci engineering or law, but does UCSC not like offer law? I'm confused about law too, I was told they do have like pre-law studies something along those lines. So given that I haven't completely decided, what would you recommend me to do?

I'm thinking of taking obv. my core course, one GE, and one, possibly 2 more courses to decide if I want Law or Engineering. By the way, where can I get a list of all the required GE's?

Please help, I missed orientation and am kinda lost, talked to college advisor and am updated a little bit on how to enroll etc, but still not completely sure.

Thanks :D

Google is your friend! https://admissions.sa.ucsc.edu/discover/majors/Prelaw.cfm

If you are considering computer engineering, I recommend CMPS 10 or CMPS 5C if you have no experience with programming. CMPE 8 is also an option.

Good luck getting all your classes this quarter, a lot of them are already filled up. And if you want to be a lawyer, you don’t have to take anything that is pre-law. You can get into any law school with any major as long as you have a high GPA and high LSAT scores. Most Pre-law students don’t do as well in the LSAT as Economics, Mathematics, Engineering majors. Here is a list of the Average LSAT scores for 29 Majors:

If I were you I would go the engineering route as it is hard getting a job with a law degree now a days because there are way too many lawyers. You can still pursue law school even with an engineering major as long as you get a high GPA and good LSAT scores. You don’t want to come out of law school with over 200K in debt and not able to find a job. Better to be safe than sorry.

ProteinMan summed up the whole pre-law situation. The closest thing UCSC has to law or is legal studies
