Need help finding a topic to write about for transfer com-app. statement

Please provide a statement (250 words minimum) that addresses your reasons for transferring and the objectives you hope to achieve.

Ok, the question sounds just so simple and boring. One thing that i cant stop thinking about is when it says "objectives you hope to achieve." It seems like there is a lil hidden message behind it. Reading it over like 100 times, i don't know if i am just trippin out.

I have thought of different ideas for the transferring part-

One topic i thought of writing about is... When i was in high school i was one of those students that always placed importance on social standing. I had a 2.9 gpa but still took challenging classes. When i joined community college that persona of mine vanished, and i just started being "me". I have a more ambitious drive right now. I had a 2.9 my first semester in college, but if everything goes as planned i will get a 3.5 gpa. Would that be a bad idea because of the fact that my current gpa in college is the same as in high school?

Second topic: I really want to leave california. To me everyone here just seems so stubborn and self-centered. I really just want to go to a college out of state so i can just have a different feeling of how it feels to be out of the fast-paced life in california. Is there a way i can elaborate on that?

anyone... help?

Yes, you can elaborate on that. Give some specific details that show how you feel. Focus on the good things about places you'd like to go. Don't waste words dwelling on the shortcomings of California.

thanks adad, and that link is really helpful. When you say be specific about the place you want to go... do u mean be specific, like talking bout the university or can i just be broad and say the east coast? I have only visited teh east coast once, and i loved it. Would i include that experience within the essay?
Any other opinions from anyone else?
