Hi, I am currently a junior (17 years old).

I need some help finding a volunteer program abroad.
From July 10 to almost rest of the summer, I ll be gone to UCSD's Cosmos program.
To fill my summer gap from June 9 to July 8, I want to do something significant that would at least help me for college.
So far I've looked into getting a job, internship, and such, but the fact that I only have a month ruled those choices out...
I have looked into some short-term (2~4weeks) volunteering program abroad.
Anyone know any legit and good volunteer organizations for places such as India, Africa, etc.?
If you've gone to any, it would be great if you can share your experience.

Thanks.

Hi,
I think you should look into Global Leadership Adventures. I went on a two week trips with them last year to the Galapagos Islands and I am going this summer to Bali for two weeks for another service trip. It was a truly unforgettable experience and GLA offers a nice array of destinations. If you have any questions, feel free to ask- I’m an ambassador for GLA! good luck!

I was strongly considering Global Leadership Adventures, but I kinda find its too risky to come home at July 9th and go to COSMOS UCSD the next day…This program is still one of my options though.

any other suggestions…?
