Hey, thanks in advanced for taking a look. I am a senior who attends high school in NY and am having a hard time finding good safety, mid range, and reach schools. All the school on my list I feel are out of my range. Here is my profile.
looking at schools on the east coast, not necessarily in NY.
Weighted GPA: 3.3–my school only offers a weighted gpa, they don’t even have an unweighted listed and do not make it available to students, its weird i know)
It is quite easy to calculate your unweighted GPA, so google it and calculate UW GPA. What major do you wish to pursue? What is your SAT and/or ACT scores and how much can your parents afford to pay annually? Are you located outside of NYC?
‘a decent amount’ means they can afford $60k p.a. right? It would help to know more about what size school you are looking for, urban/suburban/small town, culture/vibe, etc…
You really gave us too little information for us to be very helpful. Size of school? Location (rural, suburban, urban) as well as in NYS, Northeast, anywhere? Extracurricular areas of interest? Remember, you’ll be living there for four years so it’s more than numbers. I would start with all the SUNY schools and narrow that down to one or two target, safety, and reach possibilities. You can also try looking at the CUNY schools if you’re interested in city schools. Once you’ve seen what the state can offer you perhaps it will give you some confidence to look at other possibilities. It’s getting late so you should just get started! Good luck!
Would rather attend school in the north east but I'm not very particular about location either
I would like the opportunity to play club football (though not a deal breaker)
I think I have a decent idea of the SUNY school I want to apply to. I’m really trying to get as broad of a selection as I can right now. Like I said, as long as the school has a medium to large sized campus and offers good bio programs (interested in marine, ecology, and genetics) I’m open to ideas.
