Hi! My problem is that I need help finding some safety schools that I would actually want to attend, should I not be accepted to other schools. My first choice would be the East Coast, and I would prefer the school to be bigger than 4,000 students (but I am totally fine with a BIG school, just not a tiny school) I want good academics, but I also want a school where I can have a fun social life and enjoy myself.

Any ideas for some good safeties? I would also like to hear any thoughts on matches/reaches too if you had an idea. Thank you so much!

If financial aid isn’t a problem, most state schools (all over the nation) should be safeties. There are some really reputable state schools!

Financial aid is not an issue. Does that open up any other options?

How about Ohio State as an example of some major public Us?

Did I miss what your likely major or career will be?

UGA, UF, UT-Austin, etc look into schools like those for safeties if you enjoy having a good time while still getting a good education

Michigan State.

As of now business is my intended major. Or communications

East Coast ish With your stats

Northeastern, Drexel, any number of SUNYs, Fordham, Providence??, U-Mass Amherst?? come to mind.

You haven’t indicated which state you live in; that would determine whether certain state universities would be reaches, matches, or safeties for you. Will you seek financial aid? If so, you could probably qualify for honors programs or colleges within a number of larger, less prestigious, universities. Finally, do you want an urban, suburban, or rural environment? You enjoyed sports; do you have any prospects for collegiate play? If not, do you want a school with strong, Division I teams to root for? Do you mind cold weather? If not, are you a skier? All these questions might help you narrow the field. I wouldn’t consider Syracuse if you can’t endure an upstate-NY winter, but it might be a good fit. Pitt, Temple, Northeastern, or Fordham are worth considering; as are Providence College, Villanova, Holy Cross, BC, et al.

Thanks for all the answers! Environment isn’t that important to me, i could deal with a rural environment as long as there were enough activities on campus to keep me busy. As far as sports go, I am not interested in playing, but I would love to root on a school with good sports! Cold weather isn’t a problem for me, I am used to it by now (MA). Some of the schools that have been listed like Syracuse, Temple, Northeastern, Fordham, Providence, Villanova and UMass are ones that I have been seriously considering, so that’s good to know that I have a shot at some of them!
