I am a High School junior who need s help finding colleges with good social anthro. departments. I already have Beloit College marked as my number one but I don't have any back-up schools.
I would prefer a LAC because I am home schooled and a larger University would overwhelm me.
Any help would be appreciated!

There was another thread on undergraduate anthropology (try the search function because I’m not good at links!) and people talked about Swarthmore, Pomona, Reed and Colorado College as well as Beloit. I wouldn’t be overly influenced by your intended major just in case you change it and would look primarily at overall quality and whether the fit otherwise feels right to you. You should find excellent anthropology at other top LACs and you might want to look at whether they have international studies which can overlap (i.e. Middlebury has international studies with a departmental specialization in anthropology).

Bryn Mawr College, if you are female. If you are male (or female) and attended Haverford, you could cross-register at Bryn Mawrr.

Thanks for replies!!

SUNY New Paltz has a good Anthropology dept. with some really interesting classes.
