need help finding safety's!!

Hi everyone! So I have my college list pretty much set. My GPA is a 3.7 SAT 1570 (really embarrassing... but I''m taking it again in november) and I have really good E.C.'s.

I'm interested in double majoring in international business/international relations and maybe minoring in political science. I'm pretty much set in studying in those areas.

I am applying to

U. San Francisco (financial safety)
Santa Clara U
U of Richmond
American U
Boston U
Richmond Intl. U in London
UC Berkeley (highly unlikely, but my parents are still making me apply)

USF is pretty much a safety, I feel confident that I'll get in since their acceptance rate is so high and it's a financial safety as well since I live in the SF bay area(i'll be living with my parents.... but it's really not that big of a deal for me).

But I feel a little scared. Fianancial aid is pretty much the deciding factor so I'm scared about applying to all privates. I still would be proud to go to USF but i want other options as well. Can anyone recommend me any good public uni's in california that have a good intl. relations or business program or even a LAC or private that is a safety for me (financially too?) I don't mean to sound picky, but i would prefer to go to a college in the city because I love doing internships and getting career opportunities.

Thank You so much everyone!

I have been researching colleges since this summer and I've found a lot of great matches, but I find it hard to find any safety's.

* Fianancial aid is pretty much the deciding factor so I’m scared about applying to all privates.*

???

If you need financial aid, then how is USF a financial safety? It’s expensive and doesn’t meet need.

well my parents won’t be paying for room and board… since I’ll be staying at home… plus my parents love that school so i mean even if it doesn’t meet my need my parents will still pay for it.

sorry if i didn’t make it clear enough :)

i know american is known to give terrible aid too and santa clara’s is okay… but i’m really interested in both so it’s still worth a try.

That still looks like $36K/year for tuition alone. Can your parents handle that?

tuition and fees: $37,424
Books and supplies: $1,500

So…about $40k per year plus travel costs (gas, parking, etc)

You need to ask your parents…will you pay $40k per year for USF. they may LOVE USF, but they may not have ANY idea that they’d have to pay that much. Try to get clarification about that.

Add Northeastern University and your local state flagship school.
