Need help for alterations

<p>Hi everyone,
I was hoping that someone could recommend a name for dress alterations near the school. My daughter has had the opposite for the freshman 15 and needs a couple of her favorite dresses altered for upcoming events. Thanks in advance.
BTW, I want to extend my thanks for all those who take their time to share so much information; we learned so much and this board was a such an asset throughout my daughter’s senior year of college applications and her final decision of attending Alabama, especially coming from NY.

<p>Yes, all that walking can lead to the opposite of the Freshman Fifteen. A good thing for most of our kiddos! </p>

<p>These were all recently suggested on the Parents FB page, in addition to Quick Fit:</p>

<p>** Several of the Tuscaloosa dry cleaners have someone on staff who also does alterations . . .

  • The one by the bowling alley does great work and even will do same day, not expensive either . . .
  • The Locker Room has a tailor they use. Said that you could bring in things to have altered.*</p>

I thought I would update this thread with some new information on alterations near the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa. My daughter is looking to get her formal dress altered. Jenny’s Alterations has moved behind the Home Depot but it was closed when she went there.

There is another place that the Locker Room recommended when I called because they no longer do alterations on women’s clothing. They recommended a place called Bedwell’s Home Fashions and Alterations which is at 1518 Greensboro in Tuscaloosa near the Waysider Restaurant. The phone number is 205-752-9064. Hopefully this information will help someone out.
