My problem is this: I attempted to transfer during my first year of college, and attempted to do so to 9 schools. I was accepted into 1, and rejected from the others. The one that accepted me, BU, provided me practically nothing fincancially and I could not go. So, I am attempting to do this again.

I was a good high school student, but I messed up my senior year. I resulted the year with an unweighted GPA of 3.5 and a weighted GPA of 5.5.
Extracurricular wise, I was very involved all four years.
Highschool: FBLA, Bussiness Honor Society, National Art Honor Society, History Honor Society, Science National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta (math soceity), English Honor Society, Amnesty, Ecology, Marching Band, Tri-M (Music Honor Soceity). I co-sponsored projects about Women's Rights, and Darfur. I was the organizer of a huge poetry slam at my school. I helped, but was not responsible, with the selling of bracelets to raise money to donate to a local hospital (over $20,000), among a load of other projects on campus all ranging from aiding old folks and younger students, to recycling. I was also responsible for a major mentoring project my senior year which was initiated by me and run by me and my staff. My senior year I was president of History Honor Society, Secretary of Science National Honor Society, Historian of National Art Honor Society, and Treasurer of English Honor Society.

I currently attend Florida Internaitonal University. In College I was involved with a club that revolves around mentoring students in college and helping studetns in local schools, mostly elementary schools. I was also involved in various walks, among other projects, with Distiction Society.
In College I took Bio 1 and 2, Religion-Analysis and Interpretation, Social Deviancy, Sociology of Sex, the labs for the two Bio classes, 4 mandatory classes required for being in the schools Honors program, and Intro to Sociology, Writing and Rhetoric. I received an A in all my classes except my Intro to Soc, which I got a B, and Social Deviancy, I got a C+. The problem was not that I did not work hard, but the two classes I did below par on was due to the Intructors, which simply were poor, and the tests never reflected neither the book content nor the notes in classes. This I found is not uncommon in many of the classses at this school, and I am truly unhappy here. I have attempted to assimilate, but I just have failed miserably.

I completed 33 credits.

I currently have a 3.7050 GPA, but it will go up.

My classes next year for Fall Semester are:
Spanish (5 credits)
Chemistry (3 credits)
Professional Writing (3 credits)
Chemistry Lab (1 credit)
Two mandatory Honors classes (4 credits)
College Algebra (3 credits)

I am going to ask my Biology lab instructors to write recommendation letters in favor (I was the highest grade in both labs). I also have a professor to write a detailed letter in my favor, since I was in his Honors class, and involved in multiple projects he helped coordinate with our class.

My current Major is Biology, but I wish to alter this and add Chemistry into the equation and double major in both.

A major problem is my SAT. I received a 640 on my verbal, 430 on my math, and 550 on writing. My worse aspect, academically, has always been math, I have done well but on tests like the SAT, I spaz due to the time factor. I have always done well in math when I take my time, so I was not surprised that in a test like the SAT I did poorly on the math section, with the time factor stressing me out and all.

Also, I am a first generation Hispanic Student (I am actually a political refugee from Cuba).

At the moment I am planning to transfer to three schools possibly a fourth, if anyone has one to recommend after hearing my stats.

The schools are as follows:
University of Florida
University of Michigan, Ann Arbor
Wesleyan University

I was accepted my senior year to University of Florida, but upon visiting I discovered that the schools was not for me, but at this point, I would prefer to attend that school than my current one.
Wesleyan University was one of my transfer options the first time around; they wait-listed me, but ended up rejecting me.

I would really appreciate if anyone can give me some hope in this tiresome endeavor. Transferring was hard, and to go through such a long procedure, and put so much effort to be rejected, and to have the only option not really be an option is saddening. If someone would be so kind as to tell me what my prospects are, and if there is a school you recommend, and think will accept me with my current credentials, I would be willing to consider it. Thank you, and have a good day.
