need help from the pros

ok i got a 2120 on the May SAT (pretty decent but i wanna do a bit better)
i'm a junior right now. If I were to retake, I could only do so in October/November cuz we're going on a trip this summer and i won't be able to make the summer SAT.
I'm looking to apply to mostly public universities (Ohio State, Texas, Florida, UI-UC, Pitt, etc.)
I'm banking on National merit plus good gpa to pull me through the application process.
What do i do? retake? or just go ahead with this score and apply?

If this was your first time taking the SAT than yes retake the test. Large score increases are common between the first and second testing. For the schools that you are applying to your score should be sufficient, but yoiu should always try to be the best that you possibly can be.

ya i proly should retake it one more time. thanks 4.0 dude

No problem.

If you’re only applying to those universities you have listed, a 2120 is good enough.

Yeah but if you can do better why not improve your chances at those schools and give yourself a shot at even better schools.

Why waste your time if you can already safely get into all of your target schools?

Maybe you can set your goals higher and get into some reach schools.

ur both right. i’m just relieved that i’m safe… its like a win-win situation for me now that i know i’m im gonna get into my target schools.
but if i end up doing better, hey that just opens up more opportunities
if not, i’ll still be alright

I’m not sure if a 2120 would be a “lock” for Texas out-of-state.
