Need help getting caught up

<p>I'm home schooled and get to pick my own courses, but I think I've fallen behind.</p>

<p>9th grade I took: (my classes were assigned/a and b is semester)
Algebra 1a
Biology 1ab
English 1ab
Global Studies ab
Psychology ab
Spanish a</p>

<p>10th grade I've taken so far:
Algebra 1b
English 2 ab
ES Science ab
Journalism ab
Geometry ab</p>

<p>Am I behind? The TN requirements are:
Math: 4 credits
English: 4 credits
Science: 3 credits -
Social Studies: 3 credits
Physical Education and Wellness: 1.5 credits
Personal Finance: 0.5 credits
Foreign Language: 2 credits
Fine Arts: 1 credit - May be waived for students not going to a University to expand and enhance the elective focus
Elective Focus: 3 credits - Math and Science, Career and Technical Education, Fine Arts, Humanities, Advanced Placement (AP) or International Baccalaureate (IB)</p>

<p>Can someone help me find out what I can do to get caught up to finish school on time?</p>

<p>Good for you for getting caught up to a regular math schedule this year. Based on your credit count, you look like you are about halfway there. </p>

<p>I can’t comment too specifically or accurately, because TN hs law is different, and I am not exactly clear of what “elective focus” consists. Are you under an umbrella school, and if so, can they provide guidance?</p>

<p>You have your psych and journalism classes already done. Will those count as your Elective Focus, or can they count as your 11th grade English and social studies classes? Work whatever counts as your Elective Focus classes into the 11th and 12th grade schedule above. </p>

<p>As you plan your schedule, consider the following:
–Save time during the spring of 11th grade for test prep and SAT/ACT testing.
–Save time during the fall of 12th grade for college apps.
–Use your summer and schools breaks wisely. Instead of having a lot of fun, cram a bit of school work in to move through a class or two to complete it more quickly.
–If you plan to take SATII or other tests, make sure you take the test as soon as possible after completing your course.
–To fulfill your English, social studies, or other electives, choose something that that really interests you. What do you spend your free time doing? What do you browse on the internet? Can you focus on learning a part of that topic, and then write a paper about it, or something else to demonstrate mastery of your subject? (You don’t have to use a state-approved curriculum in TN, do you? Can you choose it, or is it approved from your umbrella school, or ?)</p>

<p>I don’t think you need to really “catch up” as much as you need to just focus on what you need to do to finish, and then settle in and do it.</p>
