I'm sure there are caring and committed professors at WVU and, if you work hard, you will be at the top of your class and that will help you in grad school admissions.

But the elite LACs have incredible alumni networks that will be very helpful to you in looking for work in finance. In general, the schools are oriented toward promoting students and they have incredible resources compared to a state university in a poor state.

WVKid,

I like your candor, and can tell you have ambition that will take you far.

With your ECs and being from West Virginia, you can write a killer essay and have a good chance at being admitted to some of your dream schools.

If you go to WVU, you can do well, but you're going to have to work a lot harder to find a job on Wall Street once you graduate. Most MBA programs encourage a couple years of work experience before being admitted. So, you're likely 6 years away from starting your MBA...a lot can happen in those 6 years.

I suggest continuing your college search. Apply to some dream schools and safeties. When accepted and you have financial aid awards, you can make an appropriate decision.

Good luck to you.
