So there is this girl at school who is a year below me. I met her a week or two ago and we've hung out a few times after school and talked on Facebook. I definitely have a good impression of her: she has a great personality and is very attractive.

Anyways, I was home sick from school the other day, and one of my friends overheard her yell "I love [insert my name]!" that day. Apparently, he also heard her say that I am "so funny" but wasn't able to hear anything else.

I have no idea how to interpret this, but I don't think it would be wise to directly confront her about this either. So what does it mean when a girl says that she loves me (when I'm not around)?

yea I love you doesn’t really mean anything but
he’s a cool guy unless you guys have a more than
friend relationship which it appears you are not ready
to acknowledge judging from the fact that you dont want
to talk to her about it.

so funny in addition to saying funny things can also mean
makes me laugh

yeah, sometimes girls (like me) say when other ppl mention XXX “omgosh! you know XXX too!! I love him!” that happens pretty frequently. most of the time it just means that we really like him as a friend…

i often also tack on “he’s so funny” as well…

don’t bring that up..ever.. just get her number and hang out, don’t be afraid to take risks but seriously don’t confront about it, she might even deny it considering she may be embarrassed or just something she wants to keep internally.

Yeah, I often say, “AHH you know ___ too? I love him! He’s such a sweet and funny guy” and so on. A lot of girls tend to exaggerate, myself included.

Ah I love when guys try to figure out what we mean!

I don’t really see why she’d yell it, but “love” is often thrown around and means nothing. If she truely did love you after only talking a few times, run away asap.

It’s not, but people these days are desperate to get what they can. It’s a sad reflection on the general mindset of high school teens these days.

at least the OP’s name isn’t based on a dragonball z character. seriously, man, all you do is criticize. why even post?

to the OP: it doesn’t mean much, man. like people said, girls exaggerate everything and change their minds quite frequently about who they are interested in. your best bet would be to try talking to her in person a little more and maybe ask her to go to a party or something with you and your buddies on the weekend. but don’t fall into the trap of AIM/facebook chatting and sheepishly saying “hi” when you see her in person…as for her comments, they simply mean that she knows who you are. that’s about it.

I tried to play the piccolo once, and I was a junior when I made the account. But if we’re really going to dissect names…an “indie” talking about other people’s online handles. Now that’s irony…
