I live in Ohio and really want to follow a pre med track. Now some stats.
ACT: Currently 27 I really think I can get a 30-32 from the October test but lets assume a 29 for this? That was my first try for a 27.
GPA: It’s quite low at a 3.1 UW hopefully I’ll be able to raise that to a 3.3 with senior year if that even matters. Weighted its like 3.8.
Class rank: Top 50% I believe our school technically doesn’t report this so I’m not even 100% sure.
ECs: Varsity football, 250 hours of Community service, tons of leadership things that I’m apart of.
Now I would really like to not go to an instate school I want to get out of Ohio. My sister told me not to worry about the costs of college even though my direct family (my dad) is very poor she is a surgeon and she cares a lot for me apparently, so I’m lucky there. I would prefer like a 10-35k students but I really don’t care too much about that. I like campus life. I would enjoy if there was stuff to do off campus but that doesn’t matter too much, it’s all about the campus life for me. If anyone could help that would be great!
So your sister is saying she will pay up to $60K/year for your schools? Ask her point blank. You have many good in-state options that will be more affordable.
Run the NPC on Ohio University, Earlham, Muhlenberg, Suny New Paltz, Lincoln Memorial, Goucher, Juniata, Gustavus Adolphus, Beloit, Illinois Wesleyan, Hendrix. Those would be colleges that are supportive of their premeds. If you can afford to pay half to two thirds of tuition+rb it’s quite certain you’d get into some of them
Run the NPC on all of these and see which ones are affordable for your sister.
